Summary/Responsibilities:
Full service investment banking firm with substantial experience in all phases of municipal finance seeks an experienced Municipal Securities Underwriter
This position is charged with the ability to commit the firm’s capital to primary and secondary municipal bond market securities.
Manage, direct, and supervise the municipal securities activities of the firm, bearing the major responsibility in overseeing the basic functions associated with municipal securities transactions.
Lead the firm’s public finance underwriting and trading of municipal securities
Act as a financial advisor or consultant to issuers of municipal securities
Provide research or investment advice with respect to the underwriting/trading/selling/issuing of municipal securities.
Process, clear and safekeep municipal securities
Communicate with investors in municipal securities, directly or indirectly, about the underwriting/trading/selling/issuance of municipal securities.
Maintain records of all job-related activities, including general market and bond valuation data
Monitor the firm’s capital risk, as it relates to municipal securities
Train other securities representatives, as needed, to build staff and sustain a strong underwriting and trading team

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in economics, government or a related field of study required
5+ years experience in the municipal securities industry required
Series 7 required. Series 52 and 63 preferred
Knowledge of financing structures required
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn industry related software
Bloomberg experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills with experience in working alone and with teams
Ability to effectively manage and administer sensitive and confidential information
